Hi all, Earlier this week I tried to top up pressure in my boiler. The screws that allow me to do this are buggered but turns out I must have been able to turn it without realising. The pressure has gone up slowly from near zero to near 3! Now I can't turn the screw a particular way. I have no...

I’d be grateful for some guidance on the best way to fix a leak from my toilet. The leak doesn’t come from the toilet so presuming it’s the seal next to the floor and involves the 4inch waste pipe. I am replacing the toilet anyway and presume I need to replace some kind of flange at the base...

Hello.... I've just had a complete rewire and new gas/boiler/rad system installed into my property. When it comes to who I should expect to fit a suitable thermostat for the gas heating system would that be down to the plumber, the electrician or combination of both ?. Thank you.

Was doing a syphon change for a pre-agreed fixed price. On going to remove the cistern I am guessing a big hunk of rusty crumbly crap from the close coupled kit fell down the hole in the pan. I didn't see this happen and there was no residue in the hole to alert me to this. Only discovered it...

I have an obstruction in a drain pipe. Plumbing was new with the house 65 years ago, and the particular cleanout I need to open has not been opened in all that time. I put a wrench on the plug expecting it to come out. Instead, the plug remains firmly seated in the flange, and the flange...

Hi all, Bit of a weird issue with my flue. I live in a 1st floor flat and over the last 12 months or so more & more rain water has been leaking through my flue and on to my boiler. The leaking only happens when the rain is driving directly towards the flue. When the rain does drop back...

I'm looking for clarification if possible. I was asked to service a vokera combi, turned up and clocked that it seemed brand new, socket was actually covered by the casing, 3md drop in 2 mins , flue to close to plastic soffits, 15mm gas supply pipework, no chain on cylinders, no secure base for...

We just had our meters changed from prepayment to smart meters. The boiler was lit after with no leaks, but has subsequently gone out and won't stay lit anymore. There is still a good gas supply to the cooker so I don't think it's a supply issue. Any ideas???
