waste pipe
In modern plumbing, a drain-waste-vent (or DWV) is part of a system that allows air to enter a plumbing system to maintain proper air pressure to enable the removal of sewage and greywater from a dwelling. Waste is produced at fixtures such as toilets, sinks, and showers. As the water runs down, proper venting is required to avoid a vacuum from being created. As the water runs down air must be allowed into the waste pipe either through a roof vent, or the "drain waste vent" (DWV).
Hi guys, just want to get advice, i want to replace venten to unvented cylinder, is it ok to install D2 pipe to toilet waste pipe see picture? as there is no easy options to get it outside.

I removed the tile floor in my bathroom to fit vinyl and I noticed that the loo now leaks slightly when I flush it. I haven’t put the vinyl down yet, so I can build up the floor under the loo if needed to put it back to the level it was, but maybe I can re-seat the big plastic flange slightly or...
I have moved our washing machine into the garage but there isn’t a drain for the waste pipe. The attached image is of the waste pipe with the condensate pipe from the boiler, can I use a tee join and connect the washing machine pipe? The pipe leads outside and is saddled to the main waste pipe.

Hi folks
As mentioned in the title, are there any solutions to the problem, other than cutting an access to waste pipe and cutting pipe at nearest elbow or tee?

I’m not keen on strong chemicals...
I have just moved into a flat and the water waste pipe from the flat above goes through our bathroom. Whoever lived here before had painted it but I’m guessing with normal paint and the paint is flaking off, presumably due to water heat. The pipe is about 7ft tall and about 15cm wide. Would it...
Hi Everyone,
Can anyone help? I have been searching but with no luck. I am trying to fit a Duravit shower trap which has a 50mm outside diameter euro pipe size outlet. I need to attach it to a 40mm UK size waste pipe and would prefer to solvent weld it as the pipe will be under a tiled...

Hi Folks, I want to connect a bath waste outlet to a hose, but I'm struggling to configure it. It's for a temporary rainwater collection system that's being installed on a remote farm. I need to get from the plughole to a connector that will fit a hose. But I keep drawing a blank, but I'm...
I've attempted to replace the waste plug but couldn't get the nut undone but not the sink is leaking at the waste pipe connection.
I've unscrewed the large white cover and where the pipe connects with the metal sink part it is leaking, I separate the 2 parts - would plumbers mate work or is that...
We have just had a drain specialist in greater Manchester who said that our builders (uncontactable) laid our 40mm pvc waste pipe from the kitchen island to outside (about 3 meters, suspended floor, just about a crawl space underneath when floor lifted) too flat and there’s standing water, smell...

When connecting a plastic metric waste pipe from a bath to a metal imperial pipe in the wall is it standard practice to use denso tape on the outside of the join? Does it stop potential leaking or movement?
