This heating system is new to me, in reality about 8 years old and in good condition.
In the tail end of last winter's heating season, I think I shot myself in the foot. With more bedrooms than occupants and a water cost of about £4/tonne,
I had a water meter installed.
It might have been a...

I have been using Gas Engineer Software (trademark name) for a few years. I really like the app as it is a great aid for invoicing, books etc... The past couple of years the cost has increased. If memory serves is was £70, then up to £90 and this year to over £200! It's over a 100% increase...

Hi everyone,
What decent drill bits can anyone recommend for going through tiles?
If there's any sets with hole cutters in that would be even better.
Thanks.

Hi All,
Looking for some advice. The tank in the attic has been trickling out of the overflow for a few weeks now.
I have an open vented system with a hot water pump (Stuart Turner monsoon twin 3) fitted.
Have already changed the valve and float in the attic. Set it very low but water is...
Whilst installing a new heat only boiler today I thought why don't we have flow gauges, in litres per min, on the flow immediately after the pump and then on the return near the boiler?
This would allow us to see in real time the performance of the pump and the loss of flow around the system...
How does one become oftec registered? Is it like gas safe whereby you have to complete a portfolio and find someone willing to show you the ropes yadda yadda or do you just sit the courses (of which there a few) and then you can go out and start servicing etc alone, I know there are annual...

British Gas has condemned our boiler as the heat exchanger is leaking onto the circuit board.
We currently pay boiler care cover and thought that this would be covered, but the engineer who was actually a nice bloke said look i'll need to call my boss to see if we can cover this.
Couple of...

Hi guys,
Just a quick question, can a company train you from scratch just to fit smart meters (met1) ? or would you need to train for a ccn1 qualification first/along side? I was under the impression you would need your ccn1 to be registered gas safe ?
Thank you in advance
Kind regards Steve.
