Seems to be some flaws in the brass of this tap (faucet?). It has fine scribbly black lines crossing from the inner of the pipe to the outside. I guess that's why it still drips a bit even after a number of reseating attempts and many new different washers.
Is this something others have seen...
How has 2022 been so far? How's the economy affecting you? Any tips?
This email has been sent to all members of the forum. I thought we could help each other out.
How is your business doing? How has the economy (and I hear recession being said here and there in the news now) affected you at...
Greetings members of plumbersforums,
Firstly - long post alert
I’m struggling with my hot water currently - I’ve only mainly dealt with combi boilers, even then, not really had hot water too hot. Anyway I digress, my system is an open vented pre-lagged cylinder, S-plan, Myson 2 ports with a...
Hello,
*Disclaimer: Please forgive the messy photos. Our small storage/laundry room is a never-ending clean/mess zone
I am attempting to move my washing machine so that we can actually have some space in our small laundry/storage room, but I am unsure if this is possible due to code/physics...
Background story: About 18 years ago we refurbished 75% of our house and self-installed UHF in that part of the property with the help and advice of a good friend of mine (who is also a Gas Safe registered engineer). At the time we purchased a design and complete kit of parts from a young...
Hi,
I have a radiator here and it isn't getting any heat to it. Water runs out of both sides and it's been cleaned out. It works when all the other radiators are off so what I'm thinking is that the hot water isn't reaching the radiator due to the pump not having the strength to get it there...
Hi guys, I have fitted a new radiator and had a few issues working things out once I put it on the bracket. I screwed the tails in until the threads were no longer visible.
The tails were too far out of the rad/too long and couldn't align the valves with the pipes. So I twisted them in further...
to the oil heads.
I'll be replacing an oil boiler in a weeks time. At the moment the oil line approximately 30meters from one end of the house right along to the other, bungalow.its feed is 10mm microbore.
ill be moving the boiler about 1meter more from where it is will this be an issue for the...
Hi,
Was hoping to get some advice... When I moved in the central heating was not working (they didn't tell us), paid quite a bit of cash to get it looked at, everything pointed at flow problems as the "Ideal" boiler would display flow error code. In the end, the plumber let me down, so went...
I was told by a plumber that the lockshield valve on my radiators should be 'just cracked open slightly', from my understanding you dont want the LS valve open too much as the water will flow through the radiator too quickly and not heat it up fully is this correct?
I took this plumbers advice...
I have a puzzling problem with my heating system.
System comprises of Ideal icos HE18 boiler, Grundfos ALPHA2 Pump, Drayton MA1 Actuator, Drayton HT53 Tank Thermostat.
To cut a long story as short as possible:
I have a system that is generating Hot water that is far hotter than it should be...
Just out of curiosity, and because I got a crappy email from a customer this am, how far ahead are you booked up?
I have pretty much the whole of August and most of September booked with the odd day free here and there, which I'm pretty content with, new quote requests coming in and most people...
Just changed the plate hex on my Turbomax due to lots of rust flakes inside(despite corrosion inhibitor) causing poor hw performance. I need to flush the system and fit a filter. Because of system design, the only 22mm pipes that are accessible are on standard plastic pipe clips on a wall...
went to a breakdown on a procombi HE other day, no ignition. Removed venturi and cleaned then replaced .. still nothing. Checked APS and that was fine so i was a bit stumped. Rang eric @ technical and he reckons its an airflow problem .. and he wasnt wrong! removed a small boxing cover at top of...
Just being nosey, I had nothing on tomorrow other than getting the van serviced.
Then got a call about quoting to swap a combi, thought to myself nice easy job.
When I put the address into the satnav its an hours drive, not loads of miles but no major roads so its slow going.
Quote 2hours...
