Wonder if anyone could help me. I've just moved into a flat that has a Leisure Euroline sink in the kitchen. Please see link below for picture of sink:

As you can see from my link, the waste type is a "Plug" fitting, but there's no place to connect the chain for the plug on to the sink. So the only options I have is to get a plug with a handle on it, or just let the chain float about in the sink.

I'm wanting to know if it is possible to take off the waste part that the plug fits into and replace it with one that would take a strainer type fitting.

Thanks for your help

Gordon

I've fitted a few of these over the years and as I recall the plug chain hooked into the overflow grid or the overflow fixing screw was similar to a basin plug chain securing screw.
I've seen both.

Hi gordie and welcome.

A B&Q 3.5" basket waste strainer should do the job. Have a looksee on line.

you can get a plug with a handle from tool station like this 87354.jpg for 97 pence

A plug is OK like you say steve but it looks a nice sink. For the sake of a tenner and 1/2hours work the basket looks better.

.......or if you need a chain, use a longer bath chain with your stay and connect the chain to the plug in the usual way. Drill a 5.5mm hole in the wall, pop in a rawlpug and screw the chain and stay to the rawlplug, so now your chain and stay is wall hung instead of drilling a hole through your nice sink. You can also fit a screw in chrome hook to the wall to hang the plug from.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I went for this option from Paulus above ant it was perfect.

Are you not meant to connect the chain to the centre hole in the horizontal overflow?

Thanks for the feedback gordie. We all appreciate positive comments.
