Installing a booster pump

Hello all,

I want to fit a booster pump to improve the performance of my gravity fed shower and any tips would be greatly appreciated.
The shower is a mixer valve and the the cold feed comes from a tank in the loft which is at least a meter above the showerhead and the hot comes tees off from the cylinder vent which also comes up into the loft.
The pump will have to be fitted in the loft, do I need a negative head pump or will a standard booster do the job?
Do i need to install a valve on the pipework to prevent air being sucked down the vent?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

you will need to re route your hot feed to preferably an essex flange if not put it BELOW the expansion Tee joint

Can you not put te pump at the bottom of the cylinder?

A surrey flange at the top of your cylinder is more easy to install than an essex flange. saves you having to bore into your cylinder

hmmm, but they are restictive,

Personally i rarely ever fit one

but they work ok and u dont risk losing your nut like u can on an essex or cocking it right up and having to replace a hw cyl, after all the poor peep asking for advice wants the easiest option available. Weknow this is diy as he talks about valves on the air vent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Everyone knows the easiet option is not always the best and most manufacturers recommend an essex flange
