Hi all,

Just joined the Forum. I am a layman in the plumbing world and this may be a naive question but..... Is there somewhere one can get independent advice on a plumbing solution?

We have a seperate, stand-alone garage which we want to get hot water into for a dog grooming parlour. We have been told that the gas boiler in our house is not adequate enough to run off and a new combi-boiler has been recomeneded to install in the garage.

I am not suggesting that plumbers are not impartial, but is there any source that one can get independent advice?

Cheers
Mike

im sure some of the lads on here will help you out, put more info on,

boiler make/model etc...

what system do you have and how many taps would you want to run?

What you need is some impartial, specialist advise from a dog grooming parlor plumber.a DGPP as know in the trade, one visits the site once a week on Thursday afternoon :) he missed today coz he was pawly
However as said ,he will need more information about what your needs will be,how many hot outlets and size of area to be heated ,as regard parlor and what system you have in your home and size of home
I may be barking up the wrong tree, but if you are looking for different advise to see if you can cut costs, you will be able to do so but sacrifices will have to be made and that depends if you and the dogs are prepared to live with them

Go ahead and use the current system that youve got, if it doesnt work properly and or meet your demands and expectations then your going to have to do what your plumber has reccomended.

Not sure about the rest of you lads but since the " recession" dog palour work's dried right up where i'm based. ;)

hi layman,
its quite simple really,
consider the cost that your plumber has quoted for a combi job.
then consider the electricians quote for sticking in an electric shower 2 sockets for electric rads and a socket for the curlers.
