buttons
A button is a fastener that joins two pieces of fabric together by slipping through a loop or by sliding through a buttonhole.
In modern clothing and fashion design, buttons are commonly made of plastic but also may be made of metal, wood, or seashell. Buttons can also be used on containers such as wallets and bags. Buttons may be sewn onto garments and similar items exclusively for purposes of ornamentation. In the applied arts and craft, a button can be an example of folk art, studio craft, or even a miniature work of art. In archaeology, a button can be a significant artifact.
Koumpounophobia is the fear of buttons anecdotely linked to reports of smelling and dirty buttons.
We are from Alberta, and I own an electrical company.
I have been asked by a BC Mechanical P. Eng. to install an emergency STOP button at the man-door to the boiler room. It's intent is to 'halt' the operation of the boilers in the room should there be an emergency. He is demanding that I do...
Sorry for asking a silly question but does anyone know how this seat comes off ? Have had advice from local plumber but even he couldn't see how to do it.
The only thing that seems possibly relevant is that each bearing point has two very small rectangular gaps, one at 8 o clock and one at 4 o...
Hi all,
I wonder if any can help?
I have a vitra dual flush plate model name is 'loop'.
All of a sudden the press buttons don't work (don't flush) They still spring back but don't appear to be pushing against anything.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
David
We have model number FL2026 concealed cistern - picture attached. The system is not working when pushing via the buttons on the plate. It used to work when we push directly after removing the plate. Even this has become hit and miss now - specially with the yellow button.
The pins (used to...
Hi,
I've got a "Vaillant ecotec pro 28 VUW GB 286/3-3", I think it's around 10+ years old or so. I don't have a user manual, and I can't find one for this model online on any of the "manual websites" on the internet.
The control panel looks like this - see the attached picture.
What do those...
Hi,
My sanicompact is not working correctly. As soon as you press the flush, it flushes immediately but only pumps away a tiny amount of water. With the sanicompact normally you press the flush and it takes 5 seconds to fill the pan before discharging but now its flushing it straight away...
This is a real pet hate of mine, the immersion heater quality seems to be really poor these days! I often have to keep going back to any new immersion elements that I have installed either next day or a few weeks / month later to see the tiny overheat button has popped???
I will reset & turn...
Hi There,
I hope this is ok to ask (not being in the trade)... if not, I will delete the post.
I'm wondering if anyone knows what I should be looking for... I need to replace the button and its surround. Simple job for an unqualified muppet like me, if only I knew what brand/kind of thing...
Our old Impulse cascade flush valve broke so I've tried to replace it today. However, the Impulse valve is no longer manufactured. The problem I have is that it is an oblong/rectangular button and all new flush valves are designed for round buttons.
Is it possible to get an adaptor, or is there...
Hello there I'm looking for some help with this flush valve, it's fitted into a low level cistern and i would like to know if anyone has seen one before, I can't put a new flush valve in because its tiled in grrrr!! Any help would be greatly appreciated.its got no writing on it so I'm stuck really.
I am an American who just moved to Spain. I am not used to these kinds of toilets with buttons on top to flush. I took the top part off to put a freshner in the tank, and now I can't secure the two buttons to the part inside the tank that actually does the flushing. (apologies for using...
Hi,
I'm really hoping someone can help - the flush button on our toilet has broken and we cannot find a replacement (all efforts to mend it have failed!). We bought the toilet from a plumbers merchant 6 years ago, they are no longer in business and I can't find the invoice with manufacturers...
what i hate most nowdays is lifting the lid on a toilet cisten
firstly you have to decided which of the many methods is used to fix the push button so you can lift the lid
then your treated to the sight of a flush mecanism that could be unique as its the first youve seen of it , its made for 28...
How do I get the cistern lid off as we have a leak in the innards and the water is running constantly.
For round buttons the secret seems to be to rotate the sliver ring but this one is oval.
Thanks in advance.
