Hi,

I recently had a new toilet installed but each time my neighbour below (I live in the top flat of a converted house) flushes their toilet noises that sound like a ship sounding its horn come out from my toilet, and sometimes it is very loud.

Has anyone experienced this problem before?

It's probably water hammer. I assume you must have a common water supply.

There are various causes for it, most common being worn valves or insufficiently supported pipework.
