Can someone advise a newbie please?

Sorry all trying to get the hang of these postings.

My question was to be, ' I have a Baxi 100 HE condensing boiler, on an Indirect system which has a leaking AAV. I have recently de-sludged the system ( all radiators); and I am flushing out with new water fill before refillilng & including a Inhibitor.

I have been advised to remove the AAV and clean out to remove any dirt that may be blocking the flat vave.

Do I need to empty the Hot water system as well as the primary radiator waters to remove the AAV?

Your responses would be appreciated

if the aav is on the boiler which i assume is a system boiler you just need to turn of the iso valves under the boiler
id just change it once they leak

Thanks Steve, The System is open vented. If you could explain "iso valves under the boiler " as I cannot see any.

I presume you mean by "just change it once they leak" is to replace the complete AAV?

sorry wrong boiler if theres no valves you'll have to drain the heating and yes best to replace leaking aavs especialy as you need to drain to chage

Thanks again Steve, Do I also have to empty all the Hot water in the Cylinder & tank as well as the central heating?
