Hi all

I've got a Glowworm Spacesaver KFB that is weeping slightly from the right hand connection to the heat exchanger. I've nipped up the nut a little tighter (turning it through an angle of about 3 minutes on a clock face) but wasn't really sure I was doing the right thing, so didn't go any further. I think the weeping has slowed but not stopped (it seems worse when the boiler fires up after it has cooled down fully so I'm waiting to see what it's like tomorrow).

Can anyone confirm how far it would be safe to continue to tighten this nut.

(The KFB Heat Exchanger is cast iron, and the copper pipe looks to be about 25-28mm)

Thanks

Tighten it as much as you like. It is a compression joint.
had a few cheap cz 28mm snap not fun:angry_smile: think the op needs a 18 inch stillsons they settle most arguments LOL

You wouldn't get them in Mark. No cheap imported junk fitting when this was fitted. Quality Kuterlites or conex. A hammer and screwdriver usually fits a conex nicely

Yeh, they look like quality fittings! I applied my 12" Stillsons to the nut, gently but firmly. The weeping has now stopped. Cheers guys.
