Hi all,

I bought the house a year ago and a strange issue started a little while back. i woke up one morning to find that i had no hot water or central heating.

After reseting the boiler all was fine, later that day the heating kicked in and the cylinder had heated up, when the heating turned off about 0-10minutes later the boiler required resetting.

this has now been confirmed since then (every time the heating switches off the boiler requires a reset).

I have now had the system operational for a week without any heating, when i turned the heating on today, when it went off boiler reset was required.

my configuration is as follows;

landis & stafea timer
honeywell thermostat

i also have a cylinder with what looks like two motorised valves.

any ideas????

like lack of circulation through boiler.

chech your return pipe warms up with respect to flow pipe.

if it dosnt.
pump failure
motorized valve failure
or stat not sending correct signal toeither of above

good luck

Thanks for your swift response Shaun

As the pump was replaced about 3 months ago (due to a leaking Gate Valve, as i was opening it all up i thought replace the pump at the same time like for like Grundfus 15/60).

What would be the best way to test a motorised valve???

need to know a bit more about your system, do you have just the one m.v or two?
does the m.v. have 2 pipes or 3 pipes
honeywell valve i assume?

did you do the flow check on the boiler pipes?
