Hi,
I hope someone out there can help me please - it seems heating systems go wrong over bank holidays when it is more difficult/expensive to get help!

18 months ago we had a new heating system fitted including a Keston C55 boiler which our plumber installed ready for a possible large extension in a few years time. It has not been working since Thursday evening (we're getting cold now!) and displays continuously alternating error codes of "b 26" and "9 14".

The manual says the codes mean:

9 nn - Boiler off due to unexpected problem. The boiler will attempt to re-fire from this mode. In this mode the display will alternately flash "9 nn" and "b xx" where "xx" has the following meaning:

b 26 - Low water pressure. Top up system pressure and check for leaks.

Display "9 nn" indicates a delay in boiler operation but will not stop boiler operation.

This seems self explanatory but the water pressure is not low, its fine, and there are no leaks. And the delay in boiler operation is now 3 days which cannot be right.

Does anyone have any ideas please?

Thanks.

sounds like the pressure switch inside the boiler.
officially you have to be gas registered to change it.
worth a punt at a tenner.

just try giving your pressure guage a wee tap, to make sure its not stuck.

good luck

Many thanks for the suggestion. The boiler was switched off and I tried tapping the pressure gauge and it did drop a little. However when I tried switching the boiler back on again the pressure immediately rose to the correct level again as the boiler tried to fire up. The boiler then died within a second and the pressure fell back a little again. Each time I press the reset button, it does try to fire up for a split second before dying again.

Does that mean it could be the pressure switch? I am not competent to change this as I'm not a plumber.

Unfortunately the plumber who fitted the system has retired and neither of the current plumbers I use are familiar with that they refer to as semi-commercial systems. Do you know if there is a list of recommneded plumbers for these systems in the Winchester area please that I could try?

Thanks again for your help.
