My brother inlaw was painting a customers downstairs cloakroom and broke the cistern lid of an armitage shanks wc.
Its about 30 years old.He was only going to make £70 from the job so is a bit miffed at having to get me to change the complete loo.Its syponic and also white.Been to my plumbers merchants and no joy. Anyone know where i might be able to get one.

There are firms that specialise in discontinued colours etc for sanitary ware. Google it, there's a few out there. You probably won't find a siphonic loo (i have also tried), if you do be prepared to pay big money. They know they have you over a barrel

One lucky thing is that the Armitage cisterns of that era are very very common & I am certain that the cisterns are identical on both the siphonic & non syphonic Armitage loos. There are two types of these lids - one is simply a rounded lid & the other has a raised edge at the back & otherwise very flat. Possible that either type would do you.
Bet a lot of plumbers are replacing one of these toilets & just dumping the lot.
Do not think of changing whole toilet as new one won't compare & you may get a lid easily anyhow.
