Hi,
I'm trying replace a basin waste and I cannot get the chrome ring attaching it to the trap undone. It's not a nut so using a wrench with rag is just slipping. I've tried release spray but still no movement. Any suggestions?
Cheers,
Andy
My parents have a leak from kitchen sink. My dad removed waste trap and since refitted it leaks, but there wasn’t any kind of seal on it, I got a rubber/plastic gasket that seems
To fit the trap but with it, I can’t get it to screw and lock back on (has lugs so locks after quarter turn. But...
Need some advice, neighbors sewer drain keeps blocking up every few months. My wife and I have always chipped in with the other three neighbors for unclogging tho we never experience ours clogging up. Sure we had it clog up once and had it blown out with high pressure water from local plumber...
Hi all
I really need some help or advise…..
Back story…..
Some years ago my dad had an extension to his house which included a newly built downstairs shower room. Recently he had this downstairs shower room re-fitted/decorated. Quite a simple set up consisting of a sink, toilet and shower...
Hi,
I had a Macdee Wirquin Neo Air zero leak trap fitted in a sink vanity unit in April this year. Today it has started making a noise which sounds like a whale blowing air through it's blowhole!! It's 'blowing every few minutes and is loud enough for me to hear from the room next door
Any ideas...
just put a new pop up waste into my basin to find the trap does not fit correctly..
the trap fits just inside the waste thread opening and butts up against the plastic shoulder ensuring the rubber seal is pressed against the end Face of the waste.
im able to screw the nut up but even when its...

Hi folks,
Might be a stupid question but I currently have a wet room shower in place with a waste trap but I am looking to convert to a shower tray with raiser kit.
Is there an easy way to connect shower waste from tray to wet room trap using an adapter of sorts? I am trying to avoid ripping...
Good evening,
Recently had a slimline shower tray installed, with a 'fast flow waste'.
Just today thought id give it a clean, took off the top cover, and removed the little cup thing inside, but there is about id say and inch maybe 2 of water sat in the bottom of the waste unit itself...
Hi all.
I'm just curious...why do bath traps use 40mm connections and pipework and yet basin traps use 32mm?
I have a very short length (1.25m) of 40mm pipe leading from the bath into the soil pipe. Half way along this run, I have a 40mm 't' connector, from which the pipework from the basin...
I attended a customers house to fix a reported leak from their shower waste. Turns out there was a split in the trap. Straight forward I thought and got a standard 90mm trap from the van. Turns out the hole in the shower base isn't big enough to fit the top section by the width of the thread on...
Mystery pipe at the back of the toilet trap
Hi, we have moved into a house with a nice but old toilet, double trap I think, maybe syphonic? It fills up to the top before draining. I was going down the route of it having the wrong syphon fitted but noticed this pipe that has had a stopper put on...
Hi Folks,
Could you help please, I've had a new wet room installed with what I think is a McAlpine trap but there it looks to me like there is a part missing - there appears to be a gap where hair and scum and grunge can and is building up and I don't see how it can be cleaned very easily.
Is...

Just about to start on our new main bathroom and have chosen a wall mounted sink with decorative black bottle trap which heads into the wall. As I have multiple wastes going into one stack pipe I would like to connect the sink waste into the bath waste feed to the stack… I’m worried about...
Hi,
First time doing a bathroom remodel - took out bath to replace with shower but the bath waste is too high and I want to do a wetroom style.
I have 7cm of aggregate / screed over the top of the ply sub-floor so my plan is to lay the new shower waste pipe into a channel cut through that and...
The shower trap supplied with the new tray can handle 33l/m, but it is a poor quality trap and so I was looking to replace it with a MacAlpine model. Trouble is, this latter trap is limited to 26l/m and so I’m not sure which is the better option i.e lower quality trap with higher throughput, or...
I’ve just come across the matter of ‘water seal’, which i’d previously never heard of. I’m currently in the process of fitting a new shower and so I’m not sure whether I have an issue here or not.
You will see from the attached picture that the trap pipework feeds into an internal soil pipe and...
