I have always been a fan of quality and that is why I loved Vaillant, installed lots in the past, but have not touched in the last six months, have moved to advanta's
To be far,I had no more trouble with vaillant than any other boiler, but that was the trouble,I started getting as many vaillant repairs as other boiler repairs, this never use to happen, what are you paying the extra for
I find myself slagging off Vaillant and find others have started to also,if you did this a few years ago, other plumbers would say you do not know what you are talking about.I go around replacing diverter valves, repairing leaking hoses, faulty ntc's,explaining how to operate and how to use built in filling loops,as to difficult for the average person just to operate without explanation.I can not get onto there site without joining sum club,I can not ring them as no one answers and if they do they are so arrogant, mind you they always have, bit like roll royce, our produce never fails) if you are not a member of there little club.Think, now, they have a competition among their designers on how much plastic they can get into one of there new boilers, have a few with intermittent faults and yet we all say what great boilers,I just seem to being called to more and more of them breaking down
Are we seeing a decline of a great boiler :(

could be right, i,ve had a few pumps go, they are good but if you need to contact them its a mare.

as i am not commenting on boilers at the moment, i would just ask myself if there were any standards to slip?

they are all cutting corners regardless of manufacture,baxi/pot/main are no different ok i am not getting any brake down but they are making little changes here and there to save pennies, face it there are no good combis any more just average and bad they are not built to last but its guys like us who get it in the neck if it breaks

Nah...They are on the top of the which best buy which a couple of people have shown me ive never had a problem with there quality, if there has been one they've sorted it out. Vaillant are the only boiler i use

ive had a few proiblems with ones ive fitted recently one the plastic pump housing had split
the main problem as i see it is we start of with a good product and then the accountants get involved shaving a few pennies of the cost by replacing good components with inferior ones its not just boilers its across the board trouble is we wind up with a big gap between the quality stuff and everything else
try buying quality taps no matter what you pay for taps nowdays they all seem to have the same internals

We are from Alberta, and I own an electrical company. I have been asked by a BC Mechanical P. Eng. to install an emergency STOP button at the man-door to the boiler room. It's intent is to 'halt' the operation of the boilers in the room should there be an emergency. He is demanding that I do...

The fittings below are for a mixer bar attached to a self contained shower. i.e not a wall. The attaching screws have snapped. I could get two new brackets, dismantle that existing one and start again or I could try and re attach via those screws, removing the broken ones from the plate and wall...

Copper pipes, I think its fair to say, is not what it used to be, the copper is getting thin while the cost is going up. Meanwhile, plastic Pushfit seems to be getting better and better, cost and convenience was always better, but now the quality is to, have we reached a stage where plastic will...
