Yorkshire fittings help

I decided to try Yorkshire fittings on the new kitchen build. Normally with me being a novice I used compression fittings in the past. So with the Yorkshire fittings I watch how its done on You tube. Easy I thought, how hard can it be???? So I bought all the gear and stated to follow the you tube instructions. Now as I'm applying heat to the joint it started to melt the solder on the other part of the joint!!! SO FRUSTRATING!!!!.
Is there anyone that can give me tips/advice on how to stop the other part melting.

? The other part of the joint like the other side of the joint ??

If yes that's normal and both sides need pipe in them / fitting up / you can't just solder one side at a time

As above, fab it all in place before applying heat.

Connect both pieces you are joining and solder not too much heat all the solder will run out.

So with the Yorkshire fittings I watch how its done on You tube. Easy I thought, how hard can it be????

Buy yourself a bag of 25 mixed fittings and a length of copper tube and practice before trying on your real project. The trick is to keep everything clean, assembled and held firmly in place, heat the fitting and don't overheat it.

After you're done, use a dilute warm solution of bicarb to wipe over all the joints and pipework to get any remaining flux, which is normally corrosive, off the outside.
