Done a job last year and wonder what the rest of you money grabbers would charge for the following for your labour

job was an office block and it included on first fix (all pipes tails were in rooms just needed re-new)

female toilets
male toilets
kitchen area which included first fix pipe work for electric water heaters
doc m pack
install water main high level 50 meters

second fix includes

female toilets
4xwc's plus wave flow sensors
4 x basins plus sensor taps and blenders

male toilets

1x wc plus wave flow sensor
2x basins plus sensor taps
1 x water less urinal

1x install doc m pack

kitchen includes

1 x sink
2x heatrae sadia water heaters

also heating

14x rads in iron tails within 2 meters on most

then obviously a commission

i know its only guess how much ,also dont forget possibility of call backs and time reading spec organising gear etc etc

so how much would you want to do a job like this???

What people would be expecting it for would be around Ā£150.00 with a discount for cash !

6.7k to 8 k depending on how much i would have to work my bum off!

i should also add its about twenty miles from your door step and approx 3- 4 weeks worth of work

Hammers are you mental! If you work that out based on 4 wks at 40 hrs per wk that's Ā£16.25 per hour! Ok if employed but no danger if se

min should be Ā£30ph tbh , if there is money on the job then I would ask for Ā£40p/h

in devon where their are a multitude of plumbs , it did gripe me that one tho but if you was estimating at 7 grand for that job you would never have got a look in

Its a double edged sword her at moment seem to be damned if you do damned if you dont

Mind you, if that's just labour then yes I suppose it's a fair months wage.

I don't live far from Hammers (15miles) and the rates are very bad, but when you think that the average person is working for min wage, in the Plymouth area and there are over 600 plumbers (and rising) competition for work is savage, move over the river into Cornwall and it gets worse, Agencies are at it again offering Ā£18 per house for servicing and doing a CP12 but when you brake it down it's working out at around Ā£7 per hr cos they have you running around like a blue arse fly from one end of town to the other, I get offered this at least 2 - 3 times a year and turn it down every time. you know that for Ā£18 a proper job is not going to be done, and it's your name on the CP12, and they are expecting at least 10 jobs a day.

I get lots of them Ā£18 per h for service
mans Ā£22 for installs , I was going to give it a go bit them I changed my mined

Ā£2600 would pay all my bills and have some left over, would love to earn that a month and I live in Bucks, so not the bottom end of the market, in 3-4 years I wont get out of bed for that!! lol

i am getting Ā£14 per hour subbying to local h/a at moment van supplied to do landlord certs its easy but money is shocking

I mean I wouldn't get out of bed for less then Ā£200 a day in 3-4 years, at the moment I would get out of bed for Ā£10

Ā£200 a day is a bang on rate tbh ! Anything under is not worth going to unless is a favour to a friend or family ! I value my self at this rate at the moment when working/helping fellow plumbers . If its my work the rate goes up ! And I am happy this month I have done 2 boiler changes and got 2 more booked for this month + other little jobs ! Tbh with you if I keep getting 4 boiler changes a month I will not go back to the HA work EVER !

Plymouth's not too bad if you are in the right market Joe. I'm in Plymouth, just a one man band, but work on the basis of Ā£200 a day & I'm booked up well into September. I've always tried to steer clear of the cut throat bottom end of the market & most of my work is in the suburbs of Plympton, Plymstock, Ivybridge & Saltash where they seem happy to pay that.
I wouldn't fancy getting any bigger though & having to chase work, thats when you can't be too choosy.

I have just put my price up from Ā£150 to Ā£200, Had loads of quotes but not turning into work, Might go back down, but want to stick to my guns for a little bit longer, Priced a job at Ā£300 a day the other day for a recommended customer and ended up getting it at Ā£250, so it really is the hardest part of the job, valuing yourself and the work you do correctly!!

Bit late as we are half way through šŸ˜© but just wondering if Iā€™ve had my pants taken down or this is reasonable (well the norm with supply and demand of work at present) All was ok until I got talking to a few lads at work and they thought it was excessively steep. Struggled getting quotes as...
