Can someone confirm please I'm correct in thinking if you have 2no rads in the same room you only put a trv on one of the rads? If so what's the science behind this and is it also a building reg recommendation ?

unable to confirm!

everything needs thermostatic control, trv, room stat etc

welcome along.

I had in my mind you only fit one of the 2 rads with a trv otherwise they are alternating on and off against each other. The one with lockshields only, provides the core heat whilst the trv rad comes on and off as dictated by the trv to maintain the room at the desired comfort temperature. What's your reasoning based on please ?

let the trv do the job it's designed to, turn off when the air around it is up to temp.
1 radiator 2,3 same difference??

no trvs when using a room stat is what your thinking of. case of a little knowledge is dangerous me thinks.

One rad with trv shuts off when room up to trv setting, but other non thermostatic rad keeps heating. Doesn't make sense and will overheat room in warmer weather and it is against regs.
It is the room stat & trv that can't be in same room

Welcome along rubicon. If there's no thermostatic on one then it can't close when the desired temp is reached giving you an over heated room lol. Good for the leepit.
