Just wondering what you need to install Biomass, Baxi do a Biomass course but does that just qualify you to work on their kit?
What qualifications or pre requisites do you need to register with MCS for installing them and finally, could anyone recommend any courses?

Cheers

Stu

HETAS would seem the logical choice but at the moment, like oil, there's no qualification for biomass other than manufacturers courses.

Completely wrong imho.

HETAS is the answer, as has already been said....
You will need the H003 dry appliance, H004 Wet appliance and H005 Wet Biomass courses to be fully prepared and able to self certify your work. (the H003 & H004 are prerequisites to the H005 course).

Once qualified, and with some experience under your belt the manufacturers training will be a great help with the specifics of each boiler but flueing, air supply and fuel storage / supply will be pretty generic across the board and you'll get this from the HETAS training.

The quality of training from HETAS is good, and it is a growing area, however you WILL spend a lot of time surveying and quoting to have customers look at you with their mouth open when they see how much it will cost compared to an oil install...

Give me a shout if you need any advice or opinions about the solid fuel side of things

Thanks thats good advice, just one more thing.... Is there an annual fee to pay similar to Gas Safe?

That line made me smile, same with combined systems. Seems like a great idea until the cust finds out how much :)
