Thanks for all the input. For those of you wasting bandwidth guessing at the pipe spec it is as stated in my original post: HEP2O Barrier. It might look like something else you've seen - but it isn't!
Good to know. FWIW, I've seen this installation instruction for HEP2O which seems to show it being used adjacent to pumps as you had it.
