Hi All
I am a new member and wants an advise from all of you.A company named C&L green energy has sent me an e-mail that they found my address from gas safe registered website and if I am intersted they can give me regular jobs in my area to replace/install new combi boilers and pay £300 for each job done.
Please advise me is this a genunine offer/company or just another catch. Thanks

Hi Akbar, Like you we have been contacted by this company. If you have found out anything further about this company I would appreciate a "heads up". It sounds too good to be true! Emma

Google the company. There is some financial information on the company via Duedil.com .It was/is a Bristol based roof coating co.It is possibly jumping on the Green bandwagon. On a side issue, what beats me is how they get all these boiler swaps.I have been offered similar work up here in West Yorks. at £200.There was a recent thread saying how thin on the ground this work was.

Thought I would add to this thread. I was contacted by this company. I did follow it through, did all the paperwork, PAT tested tools, jumped through the hoops basicaly, even got a signed contract, and then NOTHING!!!!!

C&L Green Energy, Candlelight or whatever are a roof coating company who thought they could jump on the ECO bandwagon.

What they were offering was £300 plus VAT for a combi swap using the ideal logic+, at first sounds great BUT you have to do a pre site visit and submit a site survey, ok if you have 5 or so in a block if not time consuming, YOU have to pick up the boiler from PTS ( that got me sweating, never known a company with such a big wharehouse and no stock :eek:mg_smile:

They supply1 3m length of tube (probably 15mm ) and a legnth of condense (whoopedoo) any additional endfeed fittings and electrical work is down to you, they were clever in selecting the Ideal logic as it is designed to run off a switched plug socket so that can get you out of jail if not part P.

So i reckoned with pre visit , boiler collection, fuel, time, fittings ect that I would average £220 per swap + VAT, I could just about live with that if they had a constant stream of work, BUT!!!!!

You have to wait 30 days for your payment :6: enough said.

This company contacting me did get me interested in the ECO side of things so i had a nose around and have opted to go PAS 2030 in my own right, just waiting for accreditation as we speak, achiveved this by using QMSA software at £32 a month and registering with APHC £474 initial payment, £21 a month. I have taken a gamble here and hopefuly it will pay off, there is a living to be made from the ECO fund but not the £700 plus VAT for a swap that is being touted by IQE in the Gas Safe mag last month, i booked to go on one of there awareness courses they called three days before to cancel as I was the only one attending.

They offer £700 plus VAT they pay for the boiler but what about the flue, magnaclean, sessi, room stat, trv's, tube, fittings, that soon comes down to £400 plus Vat wich is good tank for a combi swap, you have to supply the leads though.

Will keep you all updated on the PAS2030 gig

Thanks for reading

Thanks for that grasshopper, was thinking of going pas2030 myself, looked at course where you pay £600 for one day training, what is this pay monthly thing?

Hi, in my opinion the one day courses are a rip off, well most of it is these days. PAS2030 is all about documentation management, if you are ok on a computer it is quite straight forward. I pay £32 a month for my QMSA software, this is web based and it stores all of your information, customer sign off sheets, risk assessment, method statement everything is there with your company details on it. Look up QMSA cloud, it's all there. Once you have that in place and are comfortable running it, apply for accreditation. As I said I have gone with APHC, £474 down payment and £21 a month. They look at your QMSA system if they think that is ok, they visit you at your home or office then visit a recent installation that you have done to check you install to the correct standards, if all ok you will be awarded PAS2030 installer accreditation. The overall cost being just over a £1000.00

Hope that helps

so £636 a year before you do anything in fees, another money maker for a paperwork exwrcise brigade but not the installer imho. When are the government going to realise installers are already qualified and dont need to requalify to be able to get their overated subsidised grants to the householder.
