installed a shower thermostat but did not give it it's own separate supply, ie hot and cold from the tanks, it is gravity fed.
Can i connect a pump to the system?

Let me guess, you've plumbed it the 'lazy' way, you are unhappy with its performance and now want to try a pump to improve matters?

You would have to give it dedicated feeds for a shower pump or it could give you problems.

I say could because I saw a Salamander pump recently that was plumbed about as wrong as you could possibly do it but it had run as sweet as a nut for 3 years. :D

Yeah, I've come across the same thing a few times. Pumps that should never work, plumbed badly yet doing a cracking job and causing no problems!

i know what you're saying about pumping the whole house ,what if you isolated it with a switch and turned it off each time when not in use, would the water still flow through the pump?

well its against Manufacturers instructions so warranty flies out the window, having its own dedicated supply ensure enough water regardless of any other aplliances being turned

I afraid to tell you that you will need to replumb it and have it done professionally
