Current issue is the Washing machine is filling with dirty water when not used for a few days.

Washing machine in the kitchen and a few months ago the kitchen sink kept having some drainage issues, that seem to be from further down the pipes then you can get too. unscrewed some plastic pipes and cleared out the u bend etc but not much in there. the sink would be slow draining and has two parts. the pipes would back up if running water for a while and the lower sink hole would over flow. it seems to have slowly resolved itself....

we noticed the washing machine had started doing this at similar time but when used frequently doest have chance i guess. washin machine hasnt been used for a week and has a few pints of stinky water.

Its an oldish washing machine but i have a feeling issue could be drains.

Should i juts replace the washing machine? or call a plumber? or a drainage specialist?

What tests can i do?

Thanks

Post a photograph up of the waste pipework under the sink and waste from the washing machine.

Yep thanks, if it runs downhill all the way back to the washing m/c then there`s your answer.

That should be fine, beware if that is a hot water pipe, and you might want to run a hot cycle through the m/c with a washing m/c cleaner on it`s own to clear everything out. ;)
