Hi all.
Just curious to find out the proper way to measure an off set? Obviously different tradesmen have their preferred method so if you could share what way you think works best that would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers.

Do you mean when bending pipe?, I do it by eye, i get it right first time 30% of the time, then might need to adjust my bend in the benders again the other 70% of the time.

Method I was taught was bend about 45 degrees, lay horizontal along floorboard join and measure offset from floorboard to angled part. Make a pencil cross on the pipe, turn pipe over and bend it there.

Much easier to demonstrate than explain in a typed post!

i've sent you a message to email me as i have some sheets that might be useful to you, one in particular if you use a hand bender rather than a floor

Have a look at UK Copper Board Website, you can get a good book from them for free and lots of info.
There is various ways to do the same task its just personal preference for what works best/easiest for you.

Hi all. Hope you have all been keeping well. A while back I decided I only wanted to fit one brand of boiler and decided on Viessmann due to space for servicing and changing parts if ever needing to. I am finding my decision rather hard due to the different clearances on flue runs and cupboards...

I was stupid enough not to check the position of the pipes under the tiles when installing a toilet and drilled right through the center of a 16 mm copper water pipe. I exposed the pipe by removing a ~30cm section of the plastic sleeve and a ~10 cm section of the pipe around the hole. Several...
