Hi Guys,

Went to service the above today, followed MI, fan pressure good -5.87 but decided to give it a full service as its good for my own experience as I'm new to the trade.

All went well cleaned combustion chamber, burner etc, replaced seals as required by MI, then I hit a snag ... The gas valve adjustment screw for CO2 at Hi rate isn't there?? MI (page 53, 5.3) says use a flat blade screwdriver at point B, but there is no screw at point B which I'm assuming is top left? Just looks like its blanked inside. have these valves changed or am I missing something painstakingly obvious, at first I thought it may have a plug covering it but it doesn't seem to .... Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm completely baffled and feeling like a useful nob :(

It may have the newer type gas valve, in this case adjustment for high & low made on valve itself.

If the bit you say looked capped off, then it may just be the protection cap! You need to stab a small screwdriver thru it & prize it off! Behind there is the adjusting screw! The protecting cap has a small flat type screwdriver Indent on it but that is not the bit you turn!...

page 7 item 24 whip of the protection cover as stated above and adjustment screw underneath.

good rule of thumb in this world, if it aint broke leave it alone!

Do not adjust the high fire on the blanked newer type sit gas valve on the CDi ( fine on Ri,Si,junior,I system) or you will screw the readings, the high fire is under a grey cover inside the combustion chamber.

Do not attempt to make ANY adjustments at all on the new CDI compact range, they are fixed via an injector in the gas valve outlet.

@lameplumber, thanks very much, would have thought MI would have been a bit clearer but I suppose they are once you know your way around haha :)

@vern, thanks for that I'll make a note :)

All I'm looking to do is to adjust CO2 to MI where necessary. I have read loads on the forum about improperly adjusted CO2 settings and I'm starting to see why
