Stuey confused

Good evening

I`ve had a quote on a boiler and I`m torn which to go for.

The list I was offered are
Baxi Duotec 28HE
Worcester Junior
Baxi Platinum 28
Ideal Logic Plus
Vaillant EcoTec pro 28

I was swayed towards the Vaillant until I read reviews about the 76 Pump error lots

Baxi Duotec 28HE
Worcester Junior/compact

would be the only two i would go for

Vaillant.
That fault was with the last generation.
In my opinion ( you will get 100 different on here,) you need a boiler with a stainless steel heat exchanger. The condensate water is corrosive.

Ask 100 plumbers and you'l get 100 answers. Its all subjective but these days all major manufacturers produce decent boilers. All you need to know is
1. price
2. manufacturers warranty length

You are paying good money for you to sit back and not have to worry about becoming a combi specialist yourself. Your installer can worry about what the flue is made out of or what the modulation ratio is.

I've been quoted £1300 supplied and fitted on the Vaillant.
This seem a good price
only thing putting me off this boiler is the reviews I read saying about a 75 error with the pump?
thanks for any input it's greatly appreciated

what system you got now combi, cylinder etc?

Old Skool Britony Chaffeaux Combi

that price on them boilers is two cheap for a decent install your looking at-least 1.5-2k

and about 3 days work

1 day powerflushing system and changing rad valves/rads
1 day changing over
1 snagging / finishing off and filling in paperwork

£1300 to supply fit a valiant !!!!

Don't expect much for that other than a pants rough n ready install

+1 your looking about 900-1100 for a worcester or valiant (including flue)

Any decent installer will offer you either A ,power flush with install or B , filter the dirt out with a magna cleanse system .

If they don't offer that then wouldn't use them, however if your budget is tight then delay it till you have a better budget .

or a and b together

Boiler wise tho think would use platinum for me just think valiant are fast becoming bankers

Thanks I'll ask if they will flush it too.
so the Vaillant boiler I've been offered is a decent boiler then ?

if installed corrected yes eg gas pipe up to the boilers demand etc

Also make sure your man is gas safe, and he fills the benchmark on completion. Congratulations you got yourself a bargain (fingers crossed he knows what hes doing)

All you need to ask is what length warranty am I getting, go for longest as most of the boilers you have been quoted for have very similar insides, Vaillant up to 1o years, Ideal 7 years think the Baxi platinum is still 10 years but you seem to be having it done quite cheep, ask if they are fitting some sort of filter and doing a chemical flush as a minimum , if not you could find any warranty that is offered could be cancelled

As others have said that price is far too cheap for a decent job and if they cut corners it'll invalidate the boiler warranty.

As a minimum they should clean and flush the system and add inhibitor. Personally I would also expect a power flush or a magnacleanse and decent brand system filter as the sign of a good job.

If stainless steel heat exchangers are so good why have Vaillant moved all their regular boilers to aluminium?
