Hi
I have a 12 year old Warmflow 70/90 oil combi boiler. It was working fine until I found a leak from the flow switch pipe coupling. I attempted to tighten this and proceeded to snap the coupling resulting in a cold shower for me. After turning off the water and cleaning up I established that I needed a new flow switch (all comes as one apparently) The new flow switch has been fitted but now I have hot radiators but no hot water. Or rather, I have HW for about 10 seconds and then it runs cold. I have the HW set at 24hrs but when I open the tap nothing happens. The boiler doesn't kick in. The expansion tank is hot but that is it. I am not a plumber and had to get one out to change the flow switch. I have called him and he is coming out again this afternoon but I would be grateful if anyone could offer some advice on this and possibly save him a visit.
Kindest regards in anticipation,
Oz

Pretty sure the flow switch is inside the boiler? If I'm right then you can't do this yourself as you need to be gas safe registered to take the boiler cover off. I'm sure a mod will be along in a second to give this a job 38.11

Hi, Thanks for your reply. The plumber has been back and you are correct, HE had fitted it the wrong way round. He says it must have been put together wrong lol. All is good now.
Once again, thank you for taking the time to reply.

It's oil.

Not pointing any fingers, but anybody worth there salt wouldnt leave until they knew it was operating correctly. For one to make sure that it functions, had new stuff out the box that didnt work and for two to make sure no other fault is present.

I have an ideal vogue max S18 boiler and I’m considering fitting auto balancing TRVs, my question relates to the boilers pump. I see a boiler pump menu for either 70% or 100%, so, is the pump set at either one of two fixed speed percentages or does the pump actually vary speed, (modulate)...

Ideal Logic 24, Previous problem was that the hot water was only cold or barely warm if the heating was in use. If heating was off and boiler cold then would get hot water most of the time. Changing the flow cartridge about 2 years ago (when I moved in) solved this problem enough to suffer it as...

Hi, Later this year I am going away for a 2 week holiday and as the weather will be warm there is no need for the heating to be on and arguably no need for me to needlessly heat hot water. My intention was to turn the boiler off along with the mains water when going away. Now, I have heard...
