Evening guys, Replaced 2 rads recently on a single pipe system (Heat only Boiler). Both Rads identical Reina Horizontal with trv & lockshield upstairs in the house in opposite rooms.

One of the rads is absolutely fine, The other isn't heating up as i have no flow on the trv side!? Called back for rad not heating up, Bled and Balanced system, Took the radiator off and noticed no flow from trv.

Any help much appreciated before i look into changing valves etc

Yep I know standard trv's normally work but strictly speaking should use the ones intended for one pipe Danfoss certainly make one unfortunate bit pricy though.

that’s great thank you. Instead of forking out for one costly valve, Surely using a lock shield instead of trv will Suffice?

Evening guys, Finally got to the bottom of this issue, Has anybody come across this before, Couldn’t believe it today when I went back to investigate and solve the problem. A 15mm end feed tee which had been manufactured like this! 🤦🏻‍♂️

I've never seen that before. Probably a Friday batch and no one could be bothered to check.

That's one of the reasons you can't learn Plumbing from a book lol.
I bet you never forget that one!
I’m going to be paranoid and checking fittings for the foreseeable. Luckily didn’t cause too much upheaval or take too much investigation but still a drain down and work up etc! One of those things unfortunately!

Ideal Logic 24, Previous problem was that the hot water was only cold or barely warm if the heating was in use. If heating was off and boiler cold then would get hot water most of the time. Changing the flow cartridge about 2 years ago (when I moved in) solved this problem enough to suffer it as...

Hi everyone, Looking for a bit of advice, recently went to a job where heating was operating when called for however not for the hot water. I have changed the 3 port actuator Honeywell head however this doesn’t seem to have solved the issue, does this mean that the programmer is faulty? Or is...

Every two weeks or so I have to go and top up the system because the hot taps are running cold. Boiler display is flashing 0.6 bar and I fill up to 1.3. I've had an engineer look inside the boiler and he can't see anything wrong. I've checked the pipes all over the house and cannot see any...

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...

I was stupid enough not to check the position of the pipes under the tiles when installing a toilet and drilled right through the center of a 16 mm copper water pipe. I exposed the pipe by removing a ~30cm section of the plastic sleeve and a ~10 cm section of the pipe around the hole. Several...
