Hi,

Does anyone have any experience of the Carron Phoenix Zinia tap?

We have a leaky one - and after some searching I have managed to get a replacement cartridge (the tap hasn't been made for a few years and the cartridges are no longer made).

However, I'm unable to dismantle the tap!

The cartridge came with a plastic 'key' that you are supposed to use to unscrew the top of the tap (sort of goes inside a hexagon hole ) but the top is on so tight I've just mangled the plastic key.

I've even tried box spanners (cheap set from screwfix, so not the strongest metal) and I've even managed to mangle those too. Part of the problem is I'm not even sure which way you're supposed to unscrew the top.

If anyone has any ideas or experience of of these taps, I'd be grateful to hear it.

Thanks
Geoff

Got what is probably a simple issue if you know how.... getting as far as the ceramic cartridges so I can get them out, measure, and hope they are still a currently available size and if not see if I can dissolve out any. I'd just change the tap but would involve removing tiling, cupboards that...

Hi, I've been trying to find out how to release the retainer nut on a watersmith (Screwfix) mono bloc basin mixer tap. It does not have a hex nut but rather a recessed nut with two flat pieces opposite each other and elliptical the test of it. No space for grips, adjustable spanners etc. I've...

Hi all I have a bathroom mixer tap as shown in photo. Recently and fairly suddenly i noticed it becoming stiff to operate the lever - both when lifting or rotating. I decided something was likely wrong and likely to get worse or have something break. So figured it was best to dissasemble...
