Air trapped in Worcester greenstar 15ir

Hi, need help asap as family freezing and now no hot water either. We recently had an air lock in the boiler which was cleared by a professional, on Friday morning we woke to no heating or hot water again and so arranged for some plumber to come back on Saturday to investigate, he didn't show and is now not answering his calls. I'm an electrician myself so often have the cover off boilers to wire up. My question is where is the valve to release any trapped air? As this doesn't involve the gas side of things at all I'm sure if someone could point me in the right direction I could sort the problem and defrost my family.

Really you shouldn't remove the case of a Worcester Ri as it forms part of the combustion chamber. However now its off there is a bleed point on the top of the heat exchanger. You will need a little bucket or similar to catch the water that follows. I will attach the page from manual below. Please then ensure the case goes back on and really should be checked by a RGI. Hope that helps.

Thanks, I've managed to pull some water off, an initial small burst of air followed by some turbulent water until it ran smooth but still not firing up, Is there a knack to venting it, do I need to do it super slowly?

At this stage you really need to get a gas safe registered engineer to come and sort it out. This is more than we can advise on on an open forum where others can read this thread and might use it to have a go themselves. With the case being an integral part of the combustion chamber only an RGI should be removing the case.

Doesn’t sound like an air lock unless you’ve drained the boiler need more info have you checked the basics eg pump running port valves open ?

Agree with @ShaunCorbs, have you checked all other controls? Is it locking out? Does it attempt to do anything?

Yeah it tries to fire up, I've got a firm coming in on Thursday to replace the cylinder for new pressurised setup, pump being replaced and converting Ronan s plan so just been out and bought a few heaters so we can get by. Thanks for the replies everyone.
