Hi could someone help me decide on correct mains water pump to use. I am doing some work for a guy who wants to increase his mains pressure. At the moment he has got a static pressure of 2 bar. At full flow he has a dynamic pressure of quarter of a bar at 26 litres per minute and is saying he is unhappy with this pressure. The flow he is happy with. He said at peak times his flow will go down to a dribble at some outlets, although I didn't see this as I checked during day. I checked flow and pressure straight from stop tap which is brand new. He has also just had new alkathine pipe put in. I was having a look at stuart turner pumps which have an accumulator attached. I don't think the accumulator would be needed much though as the flow is there anyway. It says in spec that it is 3 bar pressure and I wanted to know if this pressure is a dynamic pressure and also how would this work If going through combi. Thanks

Yea something like a flow mate should work

How much space you got ?

Got enough space I think m8. Have you fitted this pump before, did you notice a big difference when using pump before?

Also would you buy pump on its own or would you add in the accumulator

Yo can just buy a pump and put it on the mains your limited to 12lpm max if you pump it

You need to buy the proper kit

Stuart Turner

If you have the space

Yeah that's ok as I am getting enough flow anyway, what kind of dynamic pressure would you be looking for shaun as a good pressure also how would you have checked the pressure and flow. Would you have done it the same way I did

You can't pump direct from the mains eg by just putting a shower pump on the cold mains

Flow and pressure standing
Flow and pressure dynamic

And I would install the system in my link

I don't know what you mean flow and pressure standing

With just one outlet open eg the one your testing off

Dynamic is having another one open while your testing
