Hey everyone, just curious. Recently passed my Level 2 plumbing and want to become gas registered. Been looking into the NVQ3 but this is 1 day a week for 9months and quite expensive. Alternatively I'm considering obtaining my wras, unvented and gas to become qualified as this takes less time and costs slightly less to. Are there any pro's and cons depending what route I take?
Thank you

My advice would be to go for a course which includes a module on renewables. With the Green Deal, the RHI and the FiT coming in it is a booming industry and you are at the right stage to get the skills early to give you a head start in the careers market. Experience is key so look for colleges & apprenticeships which specialise in renewables. If you can't find any near you, come and study with us :p

We have accredited installers courses here at CAT for solar PV, biomass, solar hot water, heat pumps, as well as working examples of solar pv & water, biomass, CHP and hydro here on site.

This month from 31st July - 4th August you can do the BPEC Solar Hot Water at a discouted rate of £510 instead of £600 for members of UK Plumbers Forum.

Check out our website for more info on the course: CAT Short Courses

Email [email protected] or give us a call 01654 705 952

Good luck!

We're in Machynlleth, mid-Wales. All of our courses are residential too so if you do have to travel we will provide accommodation and three meals a day.

If you need any advice on renewables, perhaps even which area to specialise in we are always happy to help.

Must be a big place to fit one of these in
