Coincidentally, a remarkable note has been sent anonymously to my inbox. It comes from the ‘Plumbers Campaign Team’ of Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC).

I checked with HMRC and they confirmed they were targeting plumbers.

If you ...

Employ an accountant
Trust him/her
Tell them about ALL your income (not just plumbing but savings, tips, etc)
Let your accountant advise you about what you can do to lower your tax bill

Then you'll have no need to fear the taxman.

As Howsie suggests evading tax (avoiding is legal) is as bad as claiming for state benefits when you're not entitled to them.

Naturally, imho.
