Greetings all.

Called my plumber out 2 weeks ago to fix my boiler and a radiator that was cold. He couldnt find anything wrong with the boiler so just did a service on it as best he could. He also fixed the radiator.

The fault I have, which is kind of intermittent, I'd say 80% it doesnt run properly, 20% it does, is: The hot water doesnt get hot enough, after a day or two it's tepid at best. Also the boiler cuts out before the house is up to to the 21° I set the thermostat to. I have to keep lowering the thermostat down to 14 or so then back up to 21 to trigger it into firing the boiler again.

My next step I think is to contact glowworm and get them to send an engineer out. They have quoted a fixed price of £118 plus £60 for one spare part, £90 for two.

Before I do that I just wondered if anyone thought it might be worth me just ordering and trying a new thermistor first? Pretty sure I changed one on a 40ff I had at my previous property so it cant be that tricky.

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks

I did, last week. Anyway booked glowworm now. This morning hot water working perfectly. Should go wrong again before he visits next week though, hate intermittent faults.

Hi, whenever my Gloworm 18r is on even if I leave it on non-stop for 6 hours the flame symbol for the burner never switches off and the radiator icon never stops flashing implying the rads are calling for more heat, even though they're all red hot and have been for hours, is this a fault or just...
