Discuss Changing cartridge - Deva Metropolis sink mixer tap in the USA area at PlumbersForums.net

Hi all,

Happy New Year.

It was suggested in another thread that turning the handles on this tap type (Deva Metropolis MET172 monobloc sink mixer tap) would allow me to remove the handle and change the cartridge. It's not budging, even after some WD40.

Any other thoughts, or do I just keep trying?

Thanks!

To get to the cartridge;

remove the solid lever (pointing vertically upwards in your photo) on the handle by screwing it anticlockwise.

If you look into the small hole that this leaves behind there is a grubscrew which you should loosen/ remove ( this is probably an Allen key, but could be a slotted screw).
Then the cylindrical handle should pull off, this may be very stiff.

Shower Doc website shows cap on the end of the knob unscrews!
Yes you're right! The end cap does unscrew with big pliers and a bit of force (using a rubber sheet to protect the chrome). No grub screw under the handle on mine, they must have changed the design.
