Hi all

I have a central heating pump with an iron union fitting and I need to connect it to copper tube, can I use a brass fitting or do I need something to counter potential electrolytic action. An inhibitor will be added to the system on completion.

Many thanks

jps

Most pumps will take standard pump valves to connect to 22mm or 28mm pipework. If your pump is larger than the standard 1 1/2"BSPc size you can purchase reducing bushes from your plumbers merchant

jps,

If it is a black iron fitting it will be OK:)

If it is a galvanised fitting then its a NO NO.:(

The zinc in the galvanising will draw the zink out of the brass and you will be left with a pile of copper dust.

If you see the fitting before it leaks it will still be in its original shape and look OK but touch it and it is all dust.

I always fit my pump valves with Copaslip on the threads just in case I ever need to get them off again one day.

Hi guys. I'm trying to identify a toilet model before ordering a seat for a customer. I went to what used to be a Roca stockist (they no longer are) and one of the guys there reckoned it might be "The Gap". I went to the new stockist and the guy there disagreed it was "The Gap" and that he'd...
