Evening.

Apologies if this is an obvious question but do you need to hold G3 to fit accumulators??

i know it's pressurised but not in the same way as say an unvented.

Doubt it mate. It just a big expansion vessel innit. The problem with unvented cylinders is if the stat fails and water is boiling,, as soon as someone opens up a tap and releases the pressure the water turns into steam and creates a bomb. Think its 1600 X the amount it was when from water to steam. Accumulator is just cold water

As has been said, you don't need G3 to fit accumulators.

That shouldn't be a problem excess pressure discharged via pressure relief valves before it gets to dangerous levels.
