Just checking we are in the arms and away from prying ears...yes.

These devices that are available from ebay that allow you into a car.......would I be able to get one myself as I've lost all function through wear and tear of the central locking key fob.

Would I be able to buy a gadget that will get my remotely into my own van, mainly to remove the hoover from my passenger seat without having to open the drivers door and lean in to pop the button abd go back round again.

The keys work but it would be nice to have central locking again.

That looks exactly like the key for our spare combo same year as well,you can buy new fob only which then get matched to the existing key, we got one for freelancer which was around £70-80 from land rover think it cost us £30

You can buy new key cases and the rubber bit for like £3 that's all's you need by the looks of it

The micro switches are just exposed contacts and I've just found out this second if I short them out with a screwdriver I can hear my my van parked outside locking and unlocking...interesting..

Agree, the two half`s of the case just snap together once you transfer the key and the transcoder to the new case, at least it did on a Honda years back. May as well change the battery whilst it`s apart.

Think most use the round button type like the C2030, size of a 1p coin.

Coincidently I have just bought a new remote control cover. Only cost £5. My buttons on the old case did the same and fell out.
Be aware there will be a transponder also in your old remote and it looks like a small piece of charcoal. Don't throw it out or your remote will not work!

Just look up eBay and check with photos for your exact remote case.

Ive just had to order a new key myself comes with new switches/buttons

Yikes... Stop letting the dog chew your van key!!

For some keys you can buy replacement keys with housings from Ebay, take off the old plastic shell and take out the circuit board and fit into the replacement key. You will need to get the new key shaft cut. Did this with my Toyota keys when the buttons fell off the old ones.
