I have an Aquavalve 700 with an Aqualisa 3 bar pump which
has worked without any problems for many years. Nothing has changed with
the plumbing. The shower cubicle is next to the bath. The pump is
fed from the 22mm bath supplies, and has gate valves just before the pump to
isolate. The gate valves have been replaced in case they were restricting
the flow to the pump. I have also replaced the shower cartridge, although
the old one only had a little limescale on it. None of these have cured
the recent problem.

On turning the shower on invariably the water temperature is
correct to the lever position.

Sometimes, but not always, the pump will not cut in and this can
usually be cured by turning the bath taps on for a while until the pump cuts
in, sometimes switching the power on and off will start the pump up.

Once started the pump is ok until the shower is turned off.

The water at the correct temperature may last the whole
shower, or very often goes cold. There is no loss of water flow when this
happens. Subsequent use is more likely to be cold, but not always the
case.

When this happens the tank is checked and is hot (the tank
is large). I can also run the bath taps and it is hot, and have easily
filled a bath.

Do you have any ideas please?

Many thanks
