Like it says above, I don't really know who to consult but have always had success with this forum.

Got a built in eye level double gas oven from 20 years back which has finally given up. Need to replace it but the problem is that all new Gas built in ovens I am seeing are 60cm across. The space I have is 55cm. Could probably squeeze in a 57cm one if I chisel out some wood. But I can't find any smaller then a 60cm wide version.

Can anyone help suggest one?

They are 600mm to fit a standard base unit. You can get smaller and I had a cheapo Beko cooker in my spare flat which was about 550mm. Try Curries, Comet or any of the big electrical retailers, they'll be able to help you.

Tried all those + lots others. All seem to be the standard 60cm size.

Try googling eye level double gas oven 55cm

Seems to come up with a few.

Look for built in double ovens. Go to the manu's website and check the sizes. The 596mm or whatever size width is over the facia. Some built under ovens are 600 wide in behind and require the unit to be removed and the oven sits on rails. These types are not suitable.
Just look around.

Tried that but they are all for the floor standing regular cookers and not just a oven and grill. A couple of Zanussi ones on there but they are discontinued.

Any of these.

They are all 59.5cm wide. Thats the problem I am facing. I need 55cm.

The 595mm is the overall size across the facia, the part that covers the space. The oven itself is 547mm. They are all made to fit into a standard 600mm larder unit.
The 600mm size is the outside measurement. The inside size of a 600mm unit is 570mm - 556mm depending on the thickness of the carcas.
Unless you have a custom built unit, they will fit but check with the manufacturer.
