The Really Really Free Market (RRFM) movement is a horizontally organized collective of individuals who form a temporary market based on an alternative gift economy. RRFM events are often hosted by people unaffiliated with any large organization and are encouraged to sprout up by anyone, anytime, anywhere. The RRFM movement aims to counteract capitalism in a proactive way by creating a positive example to challenge the questioned myths of scarcity and competition. The name Really Really Free Market is itself a play on words as it is a reinterpretation and re-envisioning of the term free market, which generally refers to an economy of competition governed by supply and demand. The RRFM holds as a major goal to build a community based on sharing resources, caring for one another and improving the collective lives of all. Markets often vary in character, but they generally offer both goods and services. A RRFM usually takes place in an open community space such as a public park or community commons.

    Is this really safe ?

This is a flue from a boiler, just installed by Borthwick. We were worried that this was dangerous so called out BG. They say it is not dangerous but the boiler has been certified as “at risk”. We are trying to get them back, but its not easy. C**b*ys comes to mind. CO monitor nearby.

Is it ever normal for a new bath to drain really, really slowly?

Hi - I have just had a bath replaced during a bathroom renovation and the plug is now in the centre of the bath rather than at the end. It also now has a pop-up waste. The bath used to drain normally but after replacement, the bath drains very, very slowly, even when I unscrew and remove the...

Small cracked heat exchanger really an immediate do-or-die-NOW problem?

I wrestle trying to get my mind around the claimed dangers of a heat exchanger with a small crack in it. I know salesman LOVE it, as it is very convincing to homeowners, and since personal safety is implied, it's pretty much a "signed deal" for a new furnace. I believe I have so much evidence...

We have been told we can’t change the orientation of our toilet due to the plumbing - want to understand if this is really the case

Hi, we are building a new bathroom and have been advised by our plumber that it’s impossible to change the orientation of the toilet because there isn’t enough fall from the toilet to the soil stack. We are just surprised that it can be impossible to change the toilet position and want some...

Is powerflush really any better than chemical plus mains flush? (before boiler repair)

Hello, BEFORE I cleaned the system last year with a mains flush. There was a little inky stuff and a bit of sludge at the very end when I emptied out the rad I took off the wall, but no rads have ever had cold patches. Most pipes are hep20 but I had small section replaced by copper 2 years ago...

Does an unvented cylinder really have to be connected to the mains?

This is my first post on the forum... but I've been around a while, lurking. Hello! I'm hoping someone can advise me with a question about unvented cylinders. I'm told they must be connected to the mains and can't be gravity fed, but I'm having trouble understanding why... if the pressure and...

Really old install - should I change things

Hi first post and please excuse me if my terminology and understanding of this dark art is poor. My 5 bed house started out as a 2 bed cottage , and I bought it in its extended state. It would appear that the heating system has been extended in a haphazard way. I fully understand that the...

Do I really need to drain the system

I am upgrading to a Type 22 radiator in my kitchen as I'm now working from my kitchen table and it's never quite warm enough in here. I have an old micro bore system, and having seen a plumber convert an upstairs radiator to type 22 I am confident of being able to do this myself in the kitchen...

    Not really a plumbing question

Just been to look at a job where the homeowner is wanting to convert their big under stairs cupboard into a cloakroom - electrically ok but the gas meter will be next to the toilet , sideways on meaning reading the meter may be impossible this is really for my interest, but are there any...

Is a flow switch really necessary?

I am contemplating installing a heat bank type thermal store, with an external plate exchanger for DHW. The pump on the primary (tank) side of the plate exchanger is usually controlled by a flow switch on the DHW side. I am thinking to use a modulating pump (Grunfos apha2) and a thermal...

    Are deaerators really worth fitting?

Hi All I'm only a DIY'er, I have always had air in my system, I thought it was the result of the 20 year old Glow Worm boiler and corrosion from that. During the summer I had a new Atag boiler fitted by one of their recognised fitters. Really pleased with the boiler but still seem to be getting...

Hi just joined the forum. Looking forward to getting some experienced opinions here. Really quite desperate to get 2nd opinions etc.... We have a house built in 1934. Hello people in the know! I have just moved into a new house. It is a system I am not used to as my previous home had a combi boiler.
