I have been asked to perform legionella checks as per approved code of practise L8 for a local surgery.... Is this something a regular plumber would do? I have not been asked for this before? I guess there is a pad that can be purchased similar to safety check for this type of work.

Anyone done this before, or is it specialist type of work with fancy water testers needed??

You have to be trained as per l8 regs

I use a company to do all of mine. Very cheap.

Where in the world are you?

Unless it'a a brand new surgery, they are a bit late getting into L.8.

Either that or they are trying to get a cheap job done.

As above anyone involved in L.8 needs Training and back up / Auditing from a Company with testing facilities, not something to get into as a 1 man job.

Thanks for the replies, does not seem like something I can get involved in so will pass! Alot of responsibility checking water supplies in a place like doctors surgery!
