I have a 4 tests to do on Friday and one of them is sheet lead weathering. Last time I tryed this exam I failed due to the amount of questions with pictures of Front Apron, Back gutter and side flashings asking for their lengths, widths etc. I think that is all of which was mentioned.

So could someone post the measurements width, length etc on all 3 or direct me to a website that may help, thanks.

Hi. Check this link outhttp://www.leadsheet.co.uk/free-information-sheets

Thanks for the link. I don't think I can find any diagrams on the website with the measurements but I'll double check.

Hi. Check this link outhttp://www.leadsheet.co.uk/free-information-sheets
I WAS ABOUT TO SAY ASK JUST LEAD your link wont work though go back to your post and separate it from like this your version check this outhttp to check this out http

It did work anyway, I'm saying there is nothing on the site that will benifit me. Unless I'm missing something?

Lead bossed front apron:

Apron150-200mm
Upstand 150mm
Width of chimney -plus 150mm either side

Dunno why you should do it. It's been abrogated from next year's course and futurethereafter. Silly really.

Marking out is different for lead welded apron same dimensions apply

But your question will be about dimensions, but pictorial identification and industrial bodies will be examined too

There are details of measurements in the Technical section of that site, if my memory serves me right...

Also, do you not have a study book with your course? Most have the measurements for turn in and lap etc included as part of the reference / learning stuff.... I know the JTL book does as I had to dig it out the other week to check something when my mind went blank one monday morning when faced with a bit of Leadwork crossed with a hangover.

hope this helps

*Edit* - Beaten to it....

theres a product called ubiflex which is a lead replacment, as it has no scrap value and discourages theft. but the web site has some brilliant daigramms with dimentions on, all the same as lead too.

i realy cant belive plumbing courses still cover roof work as its virtually a seperate trade nowdays i spent most of my apprentiship wiping patches on lead roofs around the west end

This was the last yeat with the inclusion of lead sheet. I believe it will be under the roofers jurisdiction now.
