Hi there,
I hope someone can help...
We just bought a house which needed alot of work, we have paid to have gas installed and have replaced the old eletric heating with gas power central heating.
We are going to apply for the scottish £500 incentive to reduce co2 emissions, but or plumber has said we should be entitled to £400 for changing from electric to gas, I dismissed this as the boiler scrappage scheme, but he advised me today its not the same incentive. its specific to people who are replacing electric heating systems.

I have googled it, but neither myself or my plumber are sure how to apply for this. Does anyone else know if this exists and if so whats it called?

Thanks very much if anyone can help.

:)

Ill give them a call in the morning,
thanks very much for taking the time to reply, any help is much appreciated.

The scrappage scheme ended up here on 31st march. This was a decent run scheme which was released in blocks (which is why it ran for so long compared to England where they gave them all out at once) and was open to all legit installers.
The £400 grant will be paid by the electric supplier if you change to gas (clever save the planet stuff that one!) regardless of who installs it. You would need to apply to the supplier eg Scottish Power, Hydro etc. Details are on the SGN (transco) site.
The other grants are tied in to the ECO assured warmth (again the electric suppliers paying so keeps the bills up) or green deal farce both allegedly open to all installers willing to spend the cash for little to no return but in reality run by the big players.
Afaik there has been no heating systems installed under green deal as of the end of April. It is all ECO stuff.

They won't pay retrospectively.
