Hi ,

Here are my question and would appreciate some help and advice.
I am new to the buisness and am a little green .

1
How do you check in connection with CP12 certs the gas valve safety device/ FSD or flame rectification ?

2 How do you get manufacteres Instructions on boilers , cookers etc quickly on site assuming I have a broadband connection? Do I have to pay for this service?

3 What is the initial combustion and final combustion reading mean on a CP12?

Thanks

Dee

sorry but this is ridicoulous
are you in any way trained in gas as to be asking these questions is verging on ridicoulous
this is an excellent forum and think that plumbing advice given out is good
but people asking what amounts to the most basic questions about gas and being given an answer is imho dangerous
sorry if i am giving offence but you clearly havnt got a clue about gas safety

Thank you for your reply.

I apologise if they are ridiculous q's but I am starting out and a carrear changer and have been fed with vast amounts of knowledge and sometimes one forgets so hence my post.

These guys will eat you alive for asking about gas safety devices and where to get boiler instruction manuals.

I am new to the industry and i have studied the plumbing side for two years at college, i won't touch a boiler let alone have a go at whatever it is you are trying to do (my guess is you are trying to reverse check a boiler against a landlords gas safety certificate in order to make a new one)

if you sometimes forget, do you really think gas is a good career change, you will be putting peoples lives at risk by sometimes forgetting.

sorry but very true.

sorry mate but i dont think you should be touching gas at all if you have as you say forgotten
tbh from those questions i doubt you are even remotely trained in gas let alone certified.you cannot possiby have forgotten what amounts to rudimentary info and tbh its is frightening to think you are planning on going into someones house and certify the appliances as safe

total agreement with newbie, when you say your new to the business are you actually registered and where did you get your training.

i forget stuff every day and am always on net looking for my required answers, but generally i 'm talking gas pressure settings and co2 levels. your questions are very basic, scary even.

if you were to state now, that your not registered and are forging cp12's i think you might recieve a bit more respect - tho everyone will give you a rollocking !

please pass the job on for your clients sake !

I dont want to start getting on a soap box but gas is dangerous we all agree to that and we all have to gain experience myself especially BUT some questions being asked in the gas forum are frankly quite scary i think that before passing out info we all need to think very carefully about how that info is being used
sorry deepatel but even a newly qualified engineer should not be asking the type of questions you are
another of your posts was whats an interupted thermocouple i cant believe these questions if it wasnt so scary it would be laughable

i am all for helping people but i think when someone asks questions like above we should not give the answers any competent engineer will allways have the corgi manual at least in his van or at home
as migo says sometimes something might need clarifieng but not the rudimentary basics

If you've done your ACS you should be able to test a FSD as you have to do this on your CCN1 and Appliances. This is one of the checks which you must make when working on a gas appliance, and should really be second nature.

As for Manufacturers instructions get them from their website.

you said in previous post that you will have completed the acs in a couple of weeks, dated 4/1/10.....are you now saying that you have failed this or you cant remember anything?.
ie can you tell me what the part 'b' in the gas regs are covered.?.
my appologies if you can.

We are from Alberta, and I own an electrical company. I have been asked by a BC Mechanical P. Eng. to install an emergency STOP button at the man-door to the boiler room. It's intent is to 'halt' the operation of the boilers in the room should there be an emergency. He is demanding that I do...
