Amazon firestick kodi tutorial

OK so here is the promised tutorial.

Please do not write any responses/questions to this thread as it will cloud the info.

The mods will remove them.

If you wish to ask questions please post in the 'sky up again' thread.

Please do not attempt to follow these instructions until the tutorial is complete as it may take me more than one sitting.

This tutorial is for the latest build. It runs on jarvis 16:1

For those with a brand new firestick which has never had kodi installed this is how you start....

Those with any previous version of kodi on a firestick can skip this step

Step1

Launch firestick
Select settings
Select system
Select developer options
Turn on Adb debugging
Turn on apps from unknown sources.

Press back to go into system settings again
Click network
Find your Internet connection and enter the password from the back of your router.

Your firestick is now connected to your Internet.

Now click back to system settings
Click about
Click network
Make a note of your ip address.

OK step one complete. Your firestick is ready for the next stage which requires pc or laptop.

For anyone who already has an existing old version of kodi on their firestick this is your step 1 (or step 2 for those who started above)

If you had a brand new stick and followed the previous instructions you can skip to the next step

Step1 for existing kodi users

Launch firestick
Click settings
Select applications
Select manage installed applications
Select kodi
Select clear cache
Select clear data
Select uninstall

If your list of installed apps has firestarter then also delete cache,data then uninstall.

Click settings
System
About
Network
Make a note of ip address


Congrats your firestick is now ready

OK step 2

This is for everyone.

On pc or laptop
Google Adb fire.
Click jocala.com (should be top result)
Scroll down page and choose the appropriate download for Windows Linux or os.

Click download
Select create desktop shortcut.

Step 2 complete

Step3

Close Internet window and click the desktop shortcut for Adb fire

The program will load

Click the button "new"

In the box that says description write a name for your device.
I use "my firestick" but you can use whatever takes your fancy.

In the address box write your ip address that you made a note of earlier.

Click save

You are now back at the main Adb fire screen.

Click the connect button.

Now select the file tab (very top right)

Select download kodi

Select arm
Select jarvis armeabi

You should now be back to Adb fire main screen.

Select install apk


Select yes

This step is complete.

Now it's time to launch the firestick again.


Select system(kodi screen)
Select file manager
Select add source
Type the following address
Http://www.areswizard.co.uk

Name it ares

Now back to main screen (kodi)
Select system tab
Select add ons
Select zip file
Select ares
Select script

(Wait) a minute or two


When it loads look for the programs tab and click it
Select add ons
Select ares wizard
Select browse builds

Select pulse ccm (59m)
Should be the top one

Click install

When it asks if you want to back up skin
Select yes.

It will ask you to click to restart the fire stick.
Do not under any circumstances do this

You must disconnect the power lead from the firestick then turn it back on.

Now launch firestick
Select settings
Select applications
Select manage installed apps
Select kodi Select launch

Wait.

It will tell you something is incompatible and ask if you wish to disable it.

Select nooooooo

Keep waiting. It looks ready but it isn't.

The screen will go black

Don't panic

It will come back on in a minute.


When it does it is complete

Play with your new toy.

Enjoy.

This step is for mutley.
Or anyone who has jarvis already but is using an inferior build.

Go to kodi
Go to programs tab
Select ares wizard
Select fresh start
You can now browse builds and select pulse ccm (59m)

Follow the instructions from the last step above to complete setup.
