hi, im buying a house thats got a vaillant gas 28kw combi boiler with a gas feed of 15mm, its 15mm all the way down to the ground floor where its 22mm, i want to have my range cooker put in but have been told that the pipework is too small and the gas flow rates wont be enough to run both appliances, so need advice as where to go as i dont want to give up my range cooker lol

Thanks

Get a gas safe registered engineer in to upgrade the gas supply when he re installs the range cooker.

get some bigger pipework fitted or a seperate run from the meter to the new cooker. It sounds like the pipework maybe undersized to the boiler anyway so id probably get the lot done correctly as when your boiler needs changing it will have to be done anyway.

Doesn't matter. If the pipework's undersized for what you want to add, it's undersized.

And to be honest I'd be surprised if you've the correct pressure at the boiler too!

Our pleasure. I know we're not giving you the advice you were hoping for but undersized pipework means your appliances would be under gassed.

And under gassed appliances are dangerous.

Hiya - you have taken the right course of action to ask us about your problem
The fellas who have given their advice to you are top line in my opinion - so if you
are not qualified in anyway please get a GSafe outfit in and trust their advice

However we like to read the end to queries on here - it makes it all worthwhile
