All,

Any advice on the following would be great. Checked Worcester site/manual and this forum but can't see exact same problem. Installed 2010 and regularly serviced.

  1. Boiler won't start.
  2. No lights on front either blue or green
  3. Did the 'Reset' but nothing
  4. Switched it off then on using boilers main power knob. This caused it to whir for a couple of seconds only without any lights coming on, so I assume it is getting power.
  5. I did this a number of times and if I left it for a while, it WOULD whir but not if I did it again within a few seconds.
  6. To be on the safe side, I switched off the power to the PCB and then checked the fuse, which is unbroken. The fact that it whirred briefly as above should mean it has power?

Any ideas
Thanks.

Hi Croppie,

I wasn't looking to try and repair this, but hoped that someone could point out something obvious like spin the dials round that I had missed.

Once I have tried all the available obvious user options, then I agree I need an engineer and would source one.

Regards
Brendan

need to turn hot water or central heating from programmer to on position :)
then check setting on room thermostat and cylinder thermostat

if room thermostat is on max and rads dont heat up ,
if cylinder stat is on 60/65 degrees and no immersion heater has been used to heat the water already and boiler dont come on is time to get a heating engineer in

I really don't like Worcesters and the greenstar ri is at the top of my list.
Unhelpful to the OP but I would be inclined to direct him to wb fixed price repair.
