Does anyone here know anything about vacuum drainage systems?

I live on a boat and there are about 60 other boats on the mooring, most of us using the vacuum drainage system with varying different aged installations.

I was asked to look at one which had stopped working and managed to get it going again but now it doesn't fill up as much as it used to and I can't figure out how to lengthen the amount of time the inlet valve stays open.

Any ideas out there?

Stab in the dark but it may be the air vent if there is one.

I think you're on the right track but there's a complicated actuator into which go 4 rubber hoses, and one of these goes to the inlet valve so when you push the flush button you can see the valve working and then slowly coming back up.
I replaced one of these actuators on a different loo and took the old one apart just to have a look.....needless to say I didn't put it back together, lots of tiny springs and bits leapt out!

I think that its going to be increasingly harder taps with the hammer to sort this one out.

Right now I know more my guess is either rubber O ring or seal worn or weak spring and letting water run back or water is bypassing the O ring / seal either way you have lost pressure in the actuator. Don`t envy you with this one buddy.

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...

Hi. I need a new toilet supply line but don’t know the size type of the fitting at the shut off valve. It is not 3/8 compression. It is a plastic nut about the same size as the one going into the cistern but has a different thread. Attached is a photo. Can you advise. Thanks.

The fittings below are for a mixer bar attached to a self contained shower. i.e not a wall. The attaching screws have snapped. I could get two new brackets, dismantle that existing one and start again or I could try and re attach via those screws, removing the broken ones from the plate and wall...
